Turtle

First introduced in 1983 and retired 1998, ‘Turtle’ was modelled by Robert Jefferson and decorated by Brian Branscombe. This paperweight is one of the few that were produced with a permanently fixed ceramic stopper. The stopper carries the transfer under-glaze Royal Crown Derby cipher and the date code XLVIII for 1985. The base is also marked with the decorators monograms as illustrated.
