Another paperweight by Allan Scott for the Caithness WHITEFRIARS Collection: ‘Punting on the River’. It is also a standard spherical weight, released in 2002 as a limited edition of 100 (Closed) this is number 36. It is cut with a single horizontal viewing facet, a rear etched facet, 3 vertical facets and 17 flute cutting radiating from the base. The interior consists of lamp-worked flowers and bulrushes with a blue and white ‘Hooded Monk’ cane at the base of the reed stems. The rear facet is acid etched with a man in a punt, additional reeds and water ripples and hanging branches. The base is freehand diamond point inscribed Whitefriars Punting on the River Caithness Scotland 36-100
